FAQs for New or Returning Applicants

I forgot my User Name, what do I do?
 
To retrieve your user name, please click one of the appropriate links below.  After reviewing the privacy policy, select the "Forgot your user name" link.  


If you have forgotten your user name, click "Forgot your user name."  You must provide your valid email address and click "Validate."  Your user name will be provided.  If you know your password, you can click the "Back to login page" and proceed.
I forgot my Password, what do I do?
 
To reset your password, please click one of the appropriate links below.  After reviewing the privacy policy, select the "Forgot your password" link. 


If you have forgotten your password click the "Forgot your password" link.  You must provide your user name and email address and click "ok."  You will receive an email with a temporary password and instructions to change your password.
I attempted to submit my application through the Careers Website but the webpage indicated there was an error.  What should I do now?
 
Verify that you are using one of our supported browsers.  Our Careers Website supports the following web browsers:  
Windows
•    Internet Explorer version 6 or higher
•    Mozilla Firefox 17 or higher
•    Chrome 27 or higher

Mac OS
•    Safari version 6.x or higher
•    Mozilla Firefox version 17 or higher
Can I apply in person using a paper application?
 
Whataburger will only consider applications submitted online.
What type of file should I use when uploading my resume?
 
When uploading a resume, use a text based document such as Word (.doc and .docx) or PDF (.pdf).  Scanned resumes in PDF or other formats cannot be read by the system and will not be accepted.
Why isn't information from the resume I uploaded going into the correct application fields, such as work experience, qualifications, and education?
 
Resumes must be in a text format (e.g., Microsoft Word or PDF files) rather than in an object format (i.e., scanned document) for proper import of the information.  Once the process is complete, please verify the fields containing values automatically imported from your resume. You may need to manually correct or complete some of the fields.
Can I attach a cover letter and should I address it to someone?
 
You may include a cover letter but it is not required.  If you include a cover letter it is not necessary to address it to a specific person.
May I submit my resume without specifying interest in a particular position?
 
To help us ensure the application is routed to the appropriate department, you will need to apply for a specific position.
What if I do not have a resume?
 
If you do not have a resume, you have the option of manually developing a resume online.
What happens to my application once submitted through the Careers Website?
 
If there is a match between your experience and the required qualifications, you will be contacted.
May I apply for multiple positions?
 
Yes, if interested in more than one position, please apply to each position separately.
Why must I apply for positions individually?
 
Each position may have unique prescreening questions specific to that position.  However, if you have already applied for a position, some of your information will be auto-filled when applying to additional positions. Position-specific prescreening questions will not be auto-filled.
If a position was posted a few months ago and is still posted on the Careers Website, is it still open?
 
Yes, if a position is listed on our website, it is considered open.  Please be aware some positions take longer to fill than others and may remain open for longer periods of time.
How can I find out the salary range for a posted position?
 
If selected for an interview, this can be discussed during the interview process.
I started an application, but was unable to complete it. I no longer see the position online. Can I still complete my application?
 
If the position is no longer posted on the Careers Website, the position is no longer available and you will be unable to complete your application.  Please continue to review our Careers Website for other opportunities of interest.
How do I know my online application was received?
 
Once you have submitted your online application, you will receive a confirmation email from Whataburger Human Resources. If you do not receive an email confirmation, check your Spam and Junk folders.
What if I don’t receive my email confirmation?
 
If you do not receive an email confirmation, please check your Spam and Junk folders and verify the email address provided is correct.
When will I hear from someone at Whataburger?
 
After you apply online, you will receive an email confirming that your application has been received. Please keep in mind the recruitment process takes time and you will be contacted if your experience meets the required qualifications of the position.
Where can I find the contact information for the hiring manager?
 
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide the hiring manager’s contact information.
Is there someone I can contact regarding the status of my application?
 
After your application has been submitted, Whataburger will contact you if you meet the qualifications for the position.

If I'm a current Whataburger Family Member, how do I locate and apply for internal career opportunities?
 
Family Members should visit the Internal Careers Website and log in using your Whataburger credentials.
